Konica Minolta Expands Deals with Global Major Accounts:
bizhub Supply Agreement Signed with German Carmaker

Tokyo (June 22, 2011) - Konica Minolta Business Technologies, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that the company has concluded a multi-year global agreement with BMW AG (BMW), headquartered in Germany. Under the agreement, Konica Minolta supplies the international enterprise with the bizhub series of multi-functional peripherals (MFPs).

As the first phase under the contract with BMW, Konica Minolta sets up 6,800 units of the bizhub system in Europe, including BMW's headquarters in Munich, six production sites, and 50 German branch locations, as well as at sites in Switzerland, Austria and the U.K. Installation of the first 3,100 units is scheduled to complete by the end of 2011.

With introduction of the bizhub system, Konica Minolta is able to deliver solutions BMW has requested, including print-related management, information security, and authenticated printing. More specifically, identity authentication will be required for BMW employees prior to print output so that documents cannot find their way into unauthorized hands. Adoption of remote monitoring devices will deliver prompt and accurate services so that downtime of the installed equipment will be minimized. Furthermore, to cater to a significant number of equipment installed at BMW's headquarters in Munich, Konica Minolta will be adding local staff at its branch close to the customer.

Through its proposal to BMW, Konica Minolta has been especially recognized for its capabilities to provide in-depth consulting and useful analysis in equipment implementation recommendation and the overall project management ranging from user training to service and support. In addition, Konica Minolta's ability, with its industry-leading high print quality and system reliability, to fully meet basic needs of BMW, has led to successful conclusion of the global agreement.

More than 70 customers have concluded global contracts with Konica Minolta so far, including many internationally leading companies in diversified industries such as insurance and financial services, global transportation services, industrial equipment and consumer electronics manufacturing, hotel services, tourism services, and printing services.

Konica Minolta has been driving global development of Optimized Print Services, consisting of high-quality products and services and support services such as output/document management and print environment optimization. Going forward, Konica Minolta will make further efforts to meet diverse demands of clients and strengthen Global Major Account sales to add global enterprise customers whose operations run around the world.
