Konica Minolta Unveils New Inkjet Textile Printers at ITMA 2011,
World's Largest Textile Machinery Exhibition

Tokyo (July 29, 2011) - Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading manufacturer of industry-use inkjet printheads, is pleased to announce that the company is unveiling new inkjet textile printers at ITMA 2011, the world's largest textile machinery exhibition to be held in Barcelona, Spain, from September 22 to 29, 2011. Konica Minolta adds two models, the Nassenger PRO 1000 for significantly high-volume production and the Nassenger PRO 60 for small production, as a new series to its globally-acclaimed Nassenger inkjet textile printers.

In recent years in the textile market an increasingly widespread attention has been drawn to on-demand production by inkjet textile printing systems, as it enables print works for a variety of printing in small lots, reduces excessive inventory in the distribution pipeline and meet the needs for short-run production of highly-demanded products of the moment, prompting a shift from conventional screen textile printing.

Reflecting the expansion of digital textile printing market in its growth stage, Konica Minolta is showcasing the Nassenger PRO 1000 and Nassenger PRO 60 in Hall 7 (A-130) at ITMA 2011. With the introduction of these two models, Konica Minolta offers total solutions to help customers manage and implement the entire production process, from small-run production to full-scale manufacturing operations, solely by inkjet textile printing.

Nassenger PRO 1000

As the top-of-the-line model of the Nassenger series, the Nassenger PRO 1000 features a number of enhanced functions for high-volume, full-scale production.

  1. The world's fastest* print speed for scan-printing inkjet printers: 1,000m2 per hour. (*as of July 29, 2011, research by Konica Minolta)
  2. Newly-developed high-density, high-performance water-based printheads.
  3. For the first time in the world, 9 inks are used for inkjet textile printer. (Research by Konica Minolta)
  4. Large-volume ink supply system is adopted. (40L ink tank for each color)
  5. Stable high-speed production is achieved by newly developed nozzle sensors and floating-fabric sensors.
  6. Remote printer diagnosis function enables to monitor on-site production in remote location.

Nassenger PRO 60

As the popular model of the Nassenger series, the Nassenger PRO 60 is ideal for small-run production.

  1. Performance including maximum print speed of 60 m2 is best suited for small-run production.
  2. In-house developed high-density, wide-width 9 printheads are mounted.
  3. Textile unwinding, printing, drying and textile winding functions all in one.
  4. For the first time in the world, 9 inks are used for inkjet textile printer. (Research by Konica Minolta)
  5. Suitable to work as proofer for the Nassenger PRO 1000, as well.

Compared with the conventional screen textile printing system, an inkjet textile printing system consumes less electric power, conserves water supply, minimizes waste and significantly reduce CO2 emission. Furthermore, water-based textile inks developed exclusively for Nassenger satisfy Konica Minolta's stringent safety standards and overseas regulations and are safe for human health. In addition, the high-performance inks are particularly robust to be resistant to repeated washes or friction. Konica Minolta's inkjet printing systems have been utilized for a wide variety of apparel products all over the world as environmentally considerate print technologies.
