TAC FILM FOR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY POLARIZING PLATES

Liquid crystal displays are used widely for various monitors such as personal computers, liquid crystal TVs, mobile phones, and car navigation units. Konica Minolta offers triacetyl cellulose (TAC) film, which is essential material to protect polarizing plates used for liquid crystal displays. Our high quality TAC film has been developed through long years of experience in manufacturing photographic base film.

<Features of Konica Minolta TAC Film>
1. Excellent film uniformity
2. Superb transparency and non-orientation
3. Reliable quality stability
4. Ultimate cleanness
5. High UV protection
A versatile line of products are available and meet various needs related to TFT liquid crystals, whose image quality is ever increasing.

GLASS SUBSTRATES FOR HARD DISKS

A glass substrate for magnetic hard disks is lighter in weight than an aluminum substrate and exhibits excellent strength and durability, making it most suitable for high density recording. The glass substrate is widely employed in a major 2.5 inch hard disk loaded in severs which require high reliability and high speed access, as well as notebook computers which require durability against physical shock. In recent years, it is also familiar as media for quickly growing handy hard disk audio players. From development of materials to melting, pressing and polishing, Konica Minolta has consecutive technologies to produce glass substrates and is able to promptly provide high quality products.

Hard disks are expected to further increase in speed and density in the future. Konica Minolta, through its long experience in ultra-micro machining and high-precision processing, is developing and manufacturing top-notch glass substrate essential for hard disks.

MICROLENS UNITS FOR MICROCAMERAS/MICROCAMERA UNITS (MCU)

MIcrolens units are increasingly used in mobile phones with cameras, onboard cameras and notebook computers, and are required to be smaller with more sophisticated functions. Through its long experience in optical design technology, aspherical lens molding technology, and micro-optical unit assembly technology, Konica Minolta offers microlens units for microcameras, which meet the market demand. Furthermore, by incorporating Konica Minolta's original piezoelectric actuators, it was able to further enhance functions, reduce size and decrease energy consumption.

In addition, Konica Minolta always persists in superb image quality. This feature is also notable in MCU incorporating microlens unit. Although it is a CMOS camera, images can be achieved even under 5 lux.
Also, cameras having frame rate of 30 frames per second, which is equivalent to telecasting, are still rare in Japan.
