Healthcare

The digital revolution has reached the fields of medical and healthcare, as well as graphic imaging. Konica Minolta serves these fields with products that employ the latest in digital imaging technology, and with services and solutions of the highest quality.
In the medical and healthcare field, we provide hospitals and clinics with high-performance x-ray digital diagnostic imaging systems that feature computed radiography (CR) and are highly acclaimed. Providing products that offer seamless links between CR and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, we support clinics’ shifts to the use of information technology. In addition, we have developed digital radiography (DR) using flat panel detectors (FPDs) to achieve high-quality images with low x-ray requirements.
In the graphic imaging field, we offer digital color-proofing systems that are highly regarded as the industry standard. We also are making aggressive inroads into the on-demand printing business with small-lot printing systems that employ our proprietary raster image processing (RIP) technology.

Our quest to deliver IT to clinics

In addition to large-scale hospitals, smaller clinics represent a surge in demand for digitization and networking. To meet these needs, we offer the REGIUS MODEL 110 digital x-ray image reader (CR), which is compact yet enables high processing speeds, and the ImagePilot, an all-in-one terminal that combines the functions of a CR console, image viewer and filing system. In addition to CR, the system can input images from medical endoscope, diagnostic ultrasound and computerized tomography systems. Furthermore, these systems operate seamlessly with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and enable uniform management of inspection images, which helps clinics make advanced diagnoses and contributes to their operating efficiency.

Our quest to bring a sense of comfort to clinics and their patients

Recent years have seen an increase in demand for the digitization of medical equipment and the enhancement of patient services, and this demand is revolutionizing the environments in which clinics operate. In addition to providing products, Konica Minolta operates call centers in Japan and the United States that are staffed with specialists 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, helping to bring a sense of comfort to users of high-end digital diagnostic equipment. These centers offer remote maintenance services, such as explanations of use, response to software malfunctions and the ability to immediately determine the status of hardware breakdowns.
Our quest for diagnostic accuracy and processing capacity

Advancements in medical care are requiring higher-quality x-ray imaging, prompting demand for high-speed processing of captured images.
In 2008, Konica Minolta developed digital radiography (DR) x-ray diagnostic systems as an alternative to CR. Using flat panel detectors (FPDs), such systems are able to deliver high-quality images with only a fraction of conventional x-ray output.
Images can be viewed only five seconds after capture and can be simultaneously viewed on an a subpanel attached to the system, achieving a highly efficient workflow.
Our quest to extent the possibilities of the CTP business

The computer to plate (CTP) process is a method of directly output plate without the output process of an analog film, to maintain the accuracy of digital data handled from desktop prepress (DTP) to the printing processes. CTP is gaining currency as a new type of digital printing system. Konica Minolta is proactive in its development of the CTP business, helping to improve workflows in the graphic imaging industry along the way.
In response to surging North American CTP demand in recent years, in the second half of 2007 Konica Minolta commenced full-fledged operation of a new CTP plate production line in the United States. We are steadily expanding output to meet plate sales volumes in the North American market.
