Luminance & Color Meters

Portable tristimulus colorimeter for light sources and irradiated objects. Allows luminance and chromaticity to be remotely measured with a 1° acceptance angle.

Introduction

Spot measurement of colour and liminance in a handheld portable instrument

The portable Konica Minolta color meters are in their element when not only the brightness but also the color of light is to be measured. The wide selection offers the appropriate instrument for every application, from the simple tristimulus unit up to a spectroradiometer with spectral lenses.

Areas of application

Practically anything that illuminates can be measured with Konica Minolta's incident color meters. The possible uses range from research and development to production.
The CL-200 is a lux meter with a color function for workplace and street illumination, the production of lamps, or the measurement of very large surfaces and projectors (ANSI lumens) by taking advantage of the serial connection of several receptor heads.
The CS-100A Spot Incident Color Meter can measure all types of light sources including signal and traffic lights, airport runway lighting, lamps, LED's, etc. The CS-100A is highly accurate, completely portable and has a fast measurement time. The CS-1000 Spectroradiometer gives the measurement of spectral power distribution, luminance, chromaticity and correlated colour temperature of light sources, display devices and the non-contact measurement of reflective subjects.
The CS-100A is a tristimulous spot meter for the measurement of luminance and standard colour value properties of coloured light sources. It is essentially an LS-100 with a color measurement option and is therefore similarly constructed. The SLR (single lens reflex) optical system allows precise targeting and ensures that the viewfinder shows the exact area to be measured, even at very short distances. With this, even exact focussing becomes easy. In addition to the measurement field and the measurement environment, the view finder also shows the measured luminance value. The pistol grip makes handling of the unit very secure. We have given special attention to minimize flare. With the help of a close-up lens, even objects as small as 1.3mm diameter can be captured. Please see the table for the achievable measurement area diameters.

The wide measurement range of 0.01 cd/m2 to 299,000 cd/m2 ensures most applications are covered. The measurement response time can also be adjusted to suit constant or flickering light sources. A neutral density filter is included for the measurement of strong and bright light sources. Luminance and standard color values are displayed externally on a large LCD.

Besides the measurement of absolute values, the LS can also display values relative to a defined standard (target). That way, brightness and color progression on large surfaces can be quickly ascertained. In order to increase accuracy even more with certain light sources, the CS-100A offers the option of user calibration.
