About Color and Appearance

As more and more materials used for industrial products are changed into plastics, many industries use color meters to measure and manage the colors of plastics. There are two types of plastics: opaque plastics such as ABS, and transparent plastics such as polycarbonate. The colors to be measured and managed are different for these types: reflected colors for the former, and transmitted colors for the latter. The CM Series Spectrophotometer is suitable for the above purpose, and it is also widely used for measuring the color of irregular surfaces such as grained materials, or for measuring turbidity (haze) of translucent colors.

Color meters are integrated into the workflow of daily manufacturing activities including color management at pigment or resin manufacturers, color adjustment and shipped color judgment at colored pellet manufacturers, color management after molding, and various acceptance inspections.
