Take a closer look at the causes

Why are these animals' homes disappearing and being polluted?

Global warming
The temperature of the earth is rising. This is causing problems for some animals because the environment is changing.

Water pollution
The rivers, lakes, ponds, and seas where animals live are being polluted by the garbage that people throw out.

War
War hurts towns and people, but it also damages forests and the animals that live there.

Development
People continue to build on more land so there are now fewer places where animals can live.

Cutting down forests
Animals are driven away when people cut down trees to use as timber or to make fields and roads.
