The Sea Otter has a home on the North Pacific coastline.
They dive into the ocean, and enjoy munching on sea urchin, abalone, shrimp, and crab. Just like a sushi restaurant!
Sea otters are great at shelling crab and other shellfish. They carry rocks on their belly, and are master tool - users.
The sea otter's fur is a high-class good
They love swimming on their backs and they are so adorable. It's very funny to watch them break shells on their belly and it makes them stars at the aquarium. However, many years ago, the sea otter's fur was a high-class good that were sold for tons of money. But by the 20th century, the sea otter was near extinction.

The Sea Otter has come home!
About 100 years ago, people decided to protect the sea otter, and today, we can see many sea otters on the North Pacific coastline. But they're still in danger. People have stopped poaching the sea otter, but they have a new problem --- pollution and a dirty ocean. When oil tankers crash, all of the oil goes into the ocean and kills the sea otter and other marine wildlife.
