In the paper pulp industry, color meters are used for the management of color paper after dyeing and the management of whiteness of white paper after fluorescent whitening.
For the application of whiteness management, in particular, STFI-Packforsk, a Swedish research organization providing standard white paper at IR3 (ISO reference 3) level to the paper industry, has specified the CM-3630 Spectrophotometer as a standard measuring instrument. Thus the CM-3630 has been widely used in the paper pulp industry in Northern Europe and other areas.
