Advanced Colour Conversion System

The unique Advanced Colour Conversion System, used in both the bizhub colour series, adds greater precision to the reproduction capabilities of colour tones like sRGB Colour Matching. To output a copy, the bizhub colour series's colour data (RGB) of light must be converted into toner colour data (CMYK). This process is achieved when the data is first read by the copier's scanner, and then converted from RGB colour space to L*a*b* colour space*. Subsequently, Advanced Colour Conversion System takes this converted data and decides where each piece of data should be placed in the CMYK colour space. With the Colour Conversion System, the individual colour correction of RGB colour data for each CMYK toner colour can be performed individually, which has a minimal affect on the entire image. The Colour Conversion System eliminates the tendency for colour copiers to print some hues more proficiently than others, and reproduces colours that are more faithful to the originals.

*The bizhub colour series convert RGB colour space into L*a* b* colour space. In the industry, this L*a*b* colour space model is the most frequently used in measuring colour differences during colour management, as well as the colour management of ink printing and colour toner printing.
