Konica Minolta Planetariums in Tokyo: Temporary Closure Extended in Response to Novel Coronavirus

March 13, 2020

Tokyo (March 13, 2020) – Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that three Konica Minolta planetariums in Tokyo will remain closed through March 25, in response to the domestic spread of the novel coronavirus. The planetariums have been temporarily closed from February 29 through March 15. Given the current domestic development of COVID-19, the closure has been extended to prevent the infection from spreading further. The planetariums are planned to resume operation on March 26. Until then, each facility will work on implanting preventive measures that will reduce infection risks among the visitors and employees.

Details about the resumption of the theaters will be updated later.

The three planetariums are operated by Konica Minolta Planetarium, Co., Ltd. (Konica Minolta Planetarium), a subsidiary of Konica Minolta:

  • Konica Minolta PLANETARIA TOKYO (Yurakucho Mullion, ninth floor)
  • Konica Minolta Planetarium MANTEN in Sunshine City (Sunshine City World Import Mart Building, Rooftop, Ikebukuro)
  • Konica Minolta Planetarium TENKU in Tokyo SKYTREE TOWN (SKYTREE TOWN East Yard, seventh floor, Oshiage)

Konica Minolta and Konica Minolta Planetarium will continue working on a smooth reopening of the theaters, while keeping adequate measures in minimizing infection risks.
