Konica Minolta Launches the KM1024iSHE-HM-LV, a New Inkjet Printhead Highly Resistant to Solvents
Suitable for Various Industrial Applications, Including Displays, Semiconductors, and Next-generation Solar Cells

September 10, 2025

Tokyo (September 10, 2025) – Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that the Company has launched the KM1024iSHE-HM-LV, which is highly resistant to solvents, as a new product of the KM1024i series of industrial inkjet printheads suitable for high-resolution, high-speed printing.

Values Provided by the KM1024iSHE-HM-LV

In the processes of manufacturing displays, semiconductors, and other electronics products, inkjet technology is widely used to precisely apply materials in the required volume only at the required locations or to pattern circuits. Meanwhile, when solvents that dissolve synthetic resins are contained in the materials to be applied using inkjet technology, they damage the inkjet printheads, making it difficult to ensure stable application.

Thanks to its outstanding solvent resistance, the KM1024iSHE-HM-LV is ideal for applying solvent-containing display materials, organic semiconductor materials, next-generation solar cell materials, and metal nanoparticle ink materials. With the ability to handle micro droplet inkjets, the printhead enables precise application in industrial applications which require high precision. It can also be used to form a perovskite layer, which uses low-viscosity materials, because of its ability to apply low-viscosity inks and materials.

Konica Minolta also offers the KM1024iSHE-HM, which exhibits solvent resistance and generates micro droplet jets while accommodating higher viscosities than the KM1024iSHE-HM-LV. Thus, the Company provides suitable inkjet printheads depending on the operating environment and application.

Kenichi Okubo, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, IJ Component Business Unit said, “Inkjet technology contributes to efficient manufacturing and so is in high demand from customers in various industries for their applications. The newly-launched KM1024iSHE-HM-LV expands applications to domains where it was difficult to apply inkjet printhead technology, including advanced fields such as perovskite solar cells.”

About the KM1024i Series

The series embodies Konica Minolta’s key inkjet printheads which are widely used in such applications as sign graphics, coding and marking, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and flat panel displays (FPDs), including LCDs, because of their suitability for high-speed, high-resolution printing.

High Productivity by High-speed Driving with Extended Print Width

The proprietary structural design, in which 1,024 nozzles are arranged (on the printhead) with a high density of 360 npi,* featuring an extended print width of 72 mm, is combined with high-speed driving technology to realize fast application and excellent productivity.

Stable Jet Performance

The product structure, which demonstrates stable inkjet performance with a proprietary customized design, supports various inks. The inkjet printhead incorporates a heater to enable application of highly viscous inks.

Enhanced Usability Based on the Common Product Platform for the Series

The KM1024i series is designed based on the common platform in terms of the exterior and electrical specifications of the inkjet printheads. This makes it easy to replace printheads of different models in the series, enhancing usability.
