Tokyo (April 22, 2022) - Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that SenrigaN, the company’s nondestructive inspection solution, has been shortlisted for the Construction News Awards (CN Awards) 2022 in the “Best Use of Technology” category. CN Awards are one of the most prestigious awards in the construction industry in Europe.

Shortlisted Product

SenrigaN, a nondestructive inspection solution

An inspection system that enables users to easily locate ruptures of prestressed concrete (PC) steel materials inside bridges

SenrigaN generates magnetic forces in steel materials by using a special magnet in its main unit. The flow of the magnetic force is detected by a sensor, and this data is then analyzed by a proprietary algorithm to locate ruptures of steel materials inside bridges of railways, expressways, and general roads in real time. This reveals the state of deterioration and helps users properly judge whether a bridge should be repaired or reinforced. In addition, the device can be easily handled by anyone, while remote support services and machine judgment make it simple to interpret the measurement data, which helps eliminate delays in grasping the situation due to a shortage of experts.
