Konica Minolta Wins the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020, for the SONIMAGE MX1, a Diagnostic Ultrasound System, and the Cosmo Leap Σ, an Optical Planetarium

Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) announced that the SONIMAGE MX1, a diagnostic ultrasound system, and the Cosmo Leap Σ, an optical planetarium, won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020, which is internationally renowned design awards sponsored by organizations based in Germany.
Each year, the world’s oldest independent design organization, Hannover-based iF International Forum Design GmbH, organizes the iF DESIGN AWARD. The competition was intense: 7,298 entries were submitted from 56 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.

The Cosmo Leap Σ can project the starry skies equivalent to those of the Infinium Σ, Konica Minolta’s flagship optical planetarium that was developed to reproduce beautiful fixed stars shining in the night sky, in medium-sized domes with an energy-efficient compact design. A new silhouette that incorporates optical technologies in a package was attained by breaking down and re-integrating the components of the conventional equipment.
