KonicaMinolta IJ Technologies showcases the latest inkjet products at drupa 2012, the World's lagest Print media Show.

Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, Inc. will be exhibiting its products jointly with the Konica Minolta Business Solutions and Konica Minolta Sensing at “drupa 2012,” the world's largest print media show to be held from May 3 to 16 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Our next-generation flagship model industrial inkjet printhead “KM1800i” will be making its first public appearance at the industrial inkjet printhead corner (Stand No. 78-2, Hall 08b). In addition, visitors will also have the chance to see the “KM1024 Series” high-speed drive model “KM1024i,” and “KM128SNG-MB,” our newly-developed micro-droplet head announced in this February, the first of its kind designed for printed electronics applications that will be on display together with KM1800i as part of the 3-model lineup. As an added attraction, our partner company in the U.K., Industrial Inkjet Ltd., will be giving demonstrations of the full-colour high-speed label print engine “Colour Print 142i.” Konica Minolta will be presenting an exhibition that comprises both its latest inkjet technologies and all its new products to customers from countries around the world at this event, the largest print media fair in the printing industry held once every four years.

The First Public Appearance of the Newly-developed Next-generation Inkjet Printhead “KM1800i”

Konica Minolta's next-generation flagship model, “KM1800i,” is a newly-developed high-performance multi-nozzle inkjet printhead furnished with 1776 nozzles and capable of a print width of 75 mm. The product features include an independent drive method that enables simultaneous jetting from all nozzles, 1776 nozzles with a high density of 600 npi and is ideal for commercial printing applications that require high-speed printing with the high image quality realized by the single-pass method.

KM1800i

New Lineup, High-speed Drive Model “KM1024i”

Part of the KM1024 Series, “KM1024i” is a high-speed drive model. This model features a printing speed approximately three times greater than that of the previous KM1024. In addition, KM1024i is compatible with all kinds of ink to enable use not only for commercial printing, but also for industrial applications

  • All-nozzle independent drive system, maximum drive frequency: 45 kHz
  • Realization of speed approximately three times faster than that of the current KM1024
  • Grey scale performance with a maximum of 8 gradations
  • 13 pl medium droplets; aqueous, solvent and UV-ink compatible

KM1800i

Micro-droplet Inkjet Printhead “KM128SNG-MB” manufactured using MEMS technology

This is Konica Minolta's first printhead for printed electronics manufactured using MEMS technology. This model enables accurate, high-precision and stable discharge of micro-droplets 1 picoliter in size and is the ideal head for display manufacturing applications on markets projected to expand in the future including OLED.

  • Utilizes silicon MEMS technology used in semiconductor processing
  • First printhead for printed electronics applications to achieve a 1 picoliter drop size
  • High-accuracy micro-printhead structure: 38mm print-width; 128 nozzles in one row
