Wayne, NJ, February 21, 2008 – Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas announced today that it has earned a five year, sole source contract for CR systems from Sanford Health, headquartered in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The contract includes Konica Minolta’s flagship REGIUS Xpress CR and REGIUS Nano CR systems for deployment throughout Sanford Health’s 150 healthcare facilities, which include the main tertiary hospital, Sanford USD Medical Center, its five Centers of Excellence and Sanford Children’s Hospital.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sanford Health will replace upwards of 20 existing CR systems in its facility with plans to purchase approximately 30 additional CR units over the lifetime of the contract.

“Sanford Health continually looks to the future and seeks technology that will provide the best standard of care to our patients,” said Gale Wynia, Director of Radiology at Sanford Health. “This agreement with Konica Minolta is based on our belief that the Xpress CR and Nano CR systems are both advanced technology that fulfill our imaging needs and help position us for continued growth.”

Sanford Health is the recipient of the largest philanthropic gift to a hospital or health system in the nation and is using the gift to expand research and add new clinics throughout North America and the world, including the Sanford World Clinics for Children. Sanford Health is also currently in the process of building a new Sanford Children’s Hospital.

“We are very proud that an institution geared for excellence such as Sanford Health has selected Konica Minolta as its preferred CR vendor,” said Bill Ward, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Konica Minolta. “The fact that Sanford is replacing existing systems is a great testament to the performance, quality and reliability of the Xpress and Nano CR Systems.”
