KONICA MINOLTA INTRODUCES A NEW INTEGRATED CR SOLUTION – THE REGIUS DIGITAL IMAGING SUITE

CHICAGO, IL, NOVEMBER 25, 2007 – Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas USA introduced today a digital radiography (DR) room solution that brings together the versatility of CR systems with the throughput of DR into one unified imaging platform. The REGIUS Digital Imaging Suite represents a new approach to digital x-ray room design optimizing workflow and equipment utilization.

The REGIUS Digital Imaging Suite consists of an x-ray system, the REGIUS 370 Digital Radiography, a float-top table, the Nano CR system and a control station that controls both REGIUS 370 and the Nano CR. The REGIUS 370 features the most advanced phosphor detector available, Cesium Bromide (CsBR), to produce a high level of detective quantum efficiency (DQE). The Nano CR is a compact, single bay CR reader with a rapid image preview time of 13 seconds.

“Combining CR and DR solutions overcomes the problem associated with designing an all DR room, which can be both cost-prohibitive and impractical,” said Eunice K. Lin, Marketing and Product Planning Manager at Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas USA. “Therefore, utilizing an upright DR system to handle most of the exams, and a CR system to handle all table and portable exams, optimizes both clinical efficiency and capital expenditure. It also adds a level of redundancy to maintain uninterrupted departmental operation.”

The control station provides a unified imaging platform that includes Konica Minolta’s patented Hybrid image processing algorithms, which provides superior image quality for even the most discerning radiologists.

REGIUS Digital Imaging Suite will be commercially available in January 2008.
