VETERINARY HOSPITAL INSTALLS KONICA MINOLTA’S DIGITAL X-RAY SYSTEM

Wayne, NJ, February 9, 2009 – Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas USA announced today that Compassionate Care Veterinary Hospital located in Manlius, N.Y. has installed an ImagePilot Computed Radiography (CR) system, a new state-of-the-art digital radiography system. The ImagePilot CR captures high-quality digital X-ray images of the patient’s anatomy and displays them on a high resolution image review workstation for immediate analysis by the veterinarian.

“With the ImagePilot CR, we now offer patients and pet owners a higher quality of diagnosis in less time than with an analog, film-based X-ray system, which also reduces cost and minimizes patient sedation,” says John Endres, DVM and sole proprietor at Compassionate Care Vet. “We strive to offer cutting edge technology that improves the quality of care for our patients, and the ImagePilot CR is one example of this commitment.”

ImagePilot CR consistently generates high-quality images with AutoPilot Image Processing, a patented, innovative technique developed by Konica Minolta that optimizes image quality while eliminating the need to define and select image processing parameters for each body part and orientation. This simplifies the image acquisition to a click of a button and creates consistent, diagnostic quality images.

“The ImagePilot CR is the ideal solution for any veterinary hospital or clinic with its reliability and simplicity of operation,” says Steve Eisner Marketing Manager, Digital Products, Konica Minolta. “ImagePilot CR pioneers the true meaning of integrated digital radiography by combining image acquisition, patient registration, image viewing and storage in one easy to use and maintain system.”

Dr. Endres uses the ImagePilot CR to extend the physical exam for a more complete and accurate diagnosis, particularly in surgical cases where kidney or renal disease can impact the treatment plan. With the system in Dr. Endres’ offices, patients and owners are spared any unnecessary transport to another veterinarian imaging facility. Since the system is digital, it does not require film processing chemicals or generate biomedical waste, making it an environmentally friendly solution.

“The digital X-rays can be easily sent to board radiologists or other specialists should the need arise,” adds Dr. Endres, “further impacting the speed and accuracy of diagnosis.”
