In 2011, the company utilized its core technologies in the world’s first commercialization of OLED lighting panels using all phosphorescent emitters.
In 2014, OLED lighting panel with the world’s first color tunable function, the world’s thinnest OLED lighting panel, and the white OLED lighting panel the world’s highest luminous efficacy.
Also at the same year, the company also announced the world’s first mass production and shipment of the OLED lighting module with a wet coating process for a light-emitting layer.
On April 16, 2019, Konica Minolta dissolved its agreement with Pioneer, regarding Konica Minolta Pioneer OLED, Inc., a joint venture established in 2017.
Konica Minolta aims to expand its business by utilizing the knowledge and know-how acquired through the collaboration, and converting its area of focus from automotive lighting to 'lighting paper'*, through synergies with high value-added printing businesses where Konica Minolta has an advantage.
