Since the establishment of our business in 1873, we have utilized the imaging technologies to create a great deal of social value, in alignment with Our Philosophy of "The Creation of New Value,"
After the integration of Konica and Minolta in 2003, we have been transforming our business portfolio to drive “genre-top strategies,” focusing management resources on areas where we can expect growth while refining our technological capabilities and excellence. In addition, in accordance with the management vision for 2030 "Imaging to the People," our dedication to deliver socially meaningful value based on our technological capabilities in imaging and our engagement with customers remains unchanged.
Right now, we are again at a turning point of our business portfolio. In the Office business, which has been our mainstay, printing volume decreased due to the adoption of hybrid approach with remote and in-person work following the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the Industry, Professional Print, and Medical Imaging businesses, which have captured opportunities associated with changes in people's lives and businesses through digitization, have grown into core businesses that follow the Office business. However, some businesses are lagging behind in their monetization after entering the markets by anticipating changes of the era.
Against this backdrop, we have launched Medium-term Business Plan for FY2025, redefining the positioning of our businesses and accelerating "selection and concentration." We aim to improve the company’s profitability and strengthening our investment focus on strengthening business areas, that are expected to grow, alongside maintaining profit in the Office Business.
Sustainability has always been at the core of our management vision. We believe that contributing to the realization of a sustainable society - a society where everyone can live with a sense of purpose - is the only way to achieve the sustainable growth of the company. In response to five material issues we have identified, we will continue to create social value through our businesses and revive ourselves again to be a company that continues to grow with society.
