Konica Minolta Group Achieves Goal of Sourcing 100% Renewable Electricity at All of Its Own Global Production Sites for MFPs, Digital Printing Systems, and Consumables
Also Achieves Goal at a Toner Production Site in Japan for the Electricity It Uses, Excluding Self-generated Electricity
December 10, 2025
Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) today announced that Konica Minolta Supplies Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (Konica Minolta Supplies), a production subsidiary in Japan, has attained the goal of procuring 100% of the electricity it uses from renewable sources. Consequently, all of the Konica Minolta Group’s own global production sites that manufacture MFPs, digital printing systems, and consumables have achieved the goal of procuring 100% of the electricity they use from renewable sources, excluding self-generated electricity.
Konica Minolta Supplies manufactures materials and consumables for printing equipment, including toner for MFPs and laser printers sold by the Konica Minolta Group. Safety control, primarily through monitoring, is ensured for its manufacturing lines, which are subject to precise process control through digital manufacturing and are fitted with automation equipment, thereby achieving high-quality, high-efficiency plant operations.

In May 2025, Konica Minolta Supplies introduced the gREen plan, a renewable electricity plan from FPS Inc., to the Kofu head office plant to supply 100% of the required electricity. In addition, Konica Minolta Supplies purchased and applied non-fossil certificates with tracking at all three of its sites (Kofu head office plant, Tatsuno plant, and Seishin plant) for the amount of electricity purchased in FY2025. Accordingly, Konica Minolta Supplies switched entirely to electricity from renewable sources, excluding the electricity self-generated by a cogeneration system at the Tatsuno plant. The Konica Minolta Group has thus attained the goal of procuring 100% of the electricity it uses from renewable sources at all of its global production sites for MFPs, digital printing systems, and consumables.
Konica Minolta’s Efforts to Achieve “Net Zero”
Regarding the material issue of “Addressing Climate Change,” Konica Minolta has been working to reduce CO2 emissions throughout the life cycle and has steadily produced results. In 2009, Konica Minolta formulated “Eco Vision 2050,” a long-term environmental vision. In May 2023, it launched a new vision to achieve “net zero” CO2 emissions from the product life cycle by 2050, a goal revised upward from the reduction of 80%. Konica Minolta is also a member of RE100, a global leadership initiative that brings together businesses committed to sourcing 100% renewable energy for their operations. The Company will enhance its reduction capabilities to achieve net zero emissions by sourcing 100% renewable energy for its operations by 2050. Konica Minolta’s net-zero targets were validated by the SBT initiative, an organization to help attain the target of the Paris Agreement, in July 2024.
