Client of Konica Minolta’s GMP02 Inspection Support Solution Assessed and Recognized at the Highest Level in the UNEP-led Framework
Providing technology to quantify equipment leaks as part of MMRV* program

Tokyo (August 27, 2025) - Konica Minolta, Inc. (Konica Minolta) recognizes Jonah Energy LLC (Colorado, U.S.), which introduced Konica Minolta’s GMP02 Inspection Support Solution to their on-site operations, for achieving the (Oil and Gas Methane Partnership) OGMP 2.0 Level 5 Reporting for its 2023 emissions as reported in the 2024 Eye on Methane report published by IMEO and presented at COP 29 in Azerbaijan in November 2024. Jonah Energy LCC has continued to adopt GMP02 as its standard protocol for methane emissions measurement and reporting since 2024.
In this recognition, the GMP02 Inspection Support Solution, which combines optical design and image processing technologies, which are Konica Minolta’s core technologies, helped Jonah Energy LLC receive the highest level of assessment thanks to the solution’s ability to accurately identify the location of gas leaks and directly measure the leak rate with exceptional accuracy and reliability as part of MMRV program.
OGMP2.0, launched in 2020 as a program under the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is the only comprehensive, measurement-based reporting framework for the oil and gas industry to improve the accuracy and transparency of methane emissions reporting. With 151 member（as of June 11,2025） companies at present, OGMP2.0 aims to significantly reduce methane emissions across the industry on a global basis.
OGMP 2.0 Level 5 is the highest reporting level of the OGMP2.0 reporting levels established by UNEP and participated in by global gas companies, with the aim of measuring and reducing methane emissions.
The OGMP2.0 reporting levels, which are used as the recognition standards, represent assessment indices that are classified depending on the level of planning and execution of methane emissions measurement and reduction by member companies. To be recognized at Level 5 a member company must provide a detailed measurement-informed emission inventory, including equipment leaks, and reconcile that with site-level measurements in a bottom-up, top-down process.
Konica Minolta’s Inspection Support Solution
While tackling five material issues, including “addressing climate change,” through its business, Konica Minolta has been deploying the GMP02 Inspection Support Solution mainly in the U.S. The solution visualizes hydrocarbon gases, including methane gas, and identifies the location of gas leaks in environments where it is difficult to conduct measurements using conventional gas detectors alone, such as places exposed to strong wind, high places, and high-temperature facilities. The GMP02 can quickly quantify the amount of leaks of methane, ethylene, and propane.
Konica Minolta will continue to contribute to solving global warming and other social issues through visualization of gas leaks by leveraging its optical and image processing technologies.
