Hands-on Farming Project How to eat healthy on a budget. The gift that keeps on giving.

When was the last time you were hungry? And I mean really, really hungry?
When real hunger happens, you don't worry about calories or nutrition, you sink your teeth into whatever food is available.

It's not a pleasant subject, but many families experience food insecurity every day. When money gets tight, healthy food is often one of the first things cut from a family’s budget, even if they have growing kids. In the US, six out of seven children who need access to nutritious meals aren’t getting them.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions has been supporting has been holding food drives and working with food security non profit organizations for several years to help end the cycle of poverty in the US. To add to these efforts, in 2015, employee volunteers worked with the nonprofit, MEVO and members of the community, many still in high school. The hands-on farming project yielded hundreds of kilos of tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and more! All to be donated to needy families along with information on the importance of proper nutrition.

Giving back and educating others about how to help themselves is truly the gift keeps on giving, for both yourself and your neighbors.
