＜About the Good Design Award＞

The Good Design Award is a comprehensive design commendation program implemented by the JDP with a view to highlighting and commending outstanding designs around us in the pursuit of prosperous lives and industrial and social development. This program has a history spanning approximately 60 years since its implementation in 1957 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (present-day Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) under the name, Good Design Selection System, which was more widely known as the G Mark System.

＜About the Machine Design Award＞

The Machine Design Award was established with the goal of promoting the development of industrial product design by Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun, Ltd., with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the sponsorship of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and various industrial organizations. Products are evaluated and chosen from a multifaceted perspective that encompasses not only their appearance, but also their quality, safety, economy, and marketability.

The iF DESIGN AWARD has been identifying outstanding design, its particular relevance for business and everyday life and awarding one of the world’s most important seals of quality every year since 1953. The iF brand is a globally recognized trademark when it comes to excellence in design. The iF DESIGN AWARD is one of the most prestigious design prizes in the world. It honors design achievements in all the disciplines: Product, Packaging, Communication and Service Design, Architecture and Interior Design, and Professional Concept.

＜About the Red Dot Award＞

The Red Dot Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world. Launched in 1955, the award has a history of more than 60 years. It is organized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany. The award has three disciplines: Product Design, Brands & Communication Design, and Design Concept.

＜About the China Red Star Design Award＞

China Red Star Design Award was established in 2006 by Beijing Industrial Design Center to commend a broad range of outstanding industrial design in China and abroad. The award winners are selected by the jury board of domestic and international design experts, based on six criteria of innovation, utility, economic benefit, environmental-friendliness, craft and aesthetic.

The German Design Awards are the international premier prize awarded by the German Design Council.
Its goal: to discover, present, and honour unique trends in design. Every year, high-calibre entries in the fields of product and communication design are honoured, each of which blazes new trails in the international design landscape. The German Design Awards, launched in 2012, are among the most prestigious design competitions worldwide and have an excellent reputation far beyond specialist circles.

＜About the DIA Design Intelligence Award＞

DIA is China’s first international design award established in 2015, organized by the China Academy of Art and DIA Committee and supported by the Zhejiang provincial government. Winners are selected by juries from various parts of the world, including Japan, Europe and the U.S. In 2019, 217 entries won awards out of 7,280 entries from 36 countries and regions.

The DFA Design for Asia Awards is the flagship programme of the Hong Kong Design Centre, celebrating design excellence and acknowledging outstanding designs with Asian perspectives. Since its launch in 2003, the DFA design for Asia Awards has been a stage upon which design talents and corporations can showcase their design projects internationally.

＜About JIDA Design Museum Selection＞

The JIDA Design Museum Selection is a program of the Japan Industrial Designers’ Association, the only nationwide organization in Japan dedicated to industrial design. In addition to singling out and recognizing high-quality products that contribute to society through their industrial design by beautifying and enriching daily life, the program is dedicated to making a cultural contribution to education, industry, and everyday life by collecting and storing those products so that they can be passed on to the next generation.

International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) is a leading global prestigious prize in product design founded in 1980 and sponsored by the American Institute of Industrial Designers (Industrial Designers Society of America). Originally established to evaluate outstanding financial performance in industrial design, it has since grown to encompass designs in a number of related areas, including design strategies, branding, and digital interactions. Every year, thousands of applications are received from design teams around the world. IDEA is one of the largest and most widely expected annual award programs in the world.
