Toward the Realization of a Decarbonized Society
In participating in each initiative, Konica Minolta's Group Environmental Officer, appointed by the President and CEO, determines whether the initiative is consistent with the Company’s environmental policy, climate change initiatives, and whether alignment with the Paris Agreement can be ensured, reporting the results to the President and CEO.
CO2 Emissions Reduction Target under the SBTi Net-Zero Standard
Konica Minolta's CO2 emission reduction targets have been approved as science-based targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a global initiative that promotes sustainable companies aligned with the Paris Agreement. In 2024, the Company’s targets were confirmed to be consistent with the latest SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard, which aligns with a 1.5°C emission pathway, and the Company completed updating its previous targets, which were SBT certified in 2017.
Participation in RE100, Which Aims to Run Businesses with 100% Renewable Energy
Konica Minolta is a member of "RE100," a global leadership initiative for companies to cover 100% of the electricity they use in their own business activities with renewable energy, in order to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. The Company aims to procure 100% of the electricity used in its business activities from renewable energy sources by 2050.
In October 2025, an "RE100 Member Meeting" was held in Japan to discuss challenges and solutions for the spread of renewable electricity, and the Company participated as a member company.
Going forward, the Company will continue to explore optimal methods globally, taking into account the circumstances of each region, and will strengthen its efforts to expand the procurement and adoption of renewable electricity.
Response to Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
Konica Minolta has expressed its support for the final report “Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures” of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)*, established by the G20 Financial Stability Board (FSB), and discloses its climate change initiatives in line with the TCFD framework.
The Group participates in the TCFD Consortium* and engages in dialogues with investors and financial institutions at TCFD Consortium Roundtables.
- *TCFD completed its mission and was disbanded in October, 2023, and its activities were taken over by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).
- *The TCFD Consortium was reorganized as the GX Future Consortium in April 2026.
Participation in the Race to Zero Campaign
Konica Minolta is participating in the Race to Zero campaign launched on World Environment Day 2020 (June 5) by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
As a non-state actor, the Company aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by no later than 2050, and to halve them by 2030.
Participation in the Japan Climate Initiative to Achieve the Paris Agreement
Konica Minolta has participated in the Japan Climate Initiative (JCI), a platform for companies, local governments, and NGOs aiming to achieve a decarbonized society, since its establishment in 2018. As a non-state actor, the Company is committed to staying at the forefront of the challenge to achieve a decarbonized society, as required by the Paris Agreement.
At the 2019 Japan Climate Action Summit, a senior executive from the Group took to the stage as a panelist at the forefront of corporate efforts toward a decarbonized society. The executive shared the Company’s concept and approach for achieving a decarbonized society with the world.
In April 2024, Konica Minolta issued a message through JCI calling for improvements to ensure carbon pricing achieves emission reductions at international standards; in November, the Company issued a message calling on the Japanese government to adopt ambitious 2035 targets consistent with the 1.5°C target. In November 2025, the Company expressed its support for the "Climate Change Action Japan Summit 2025 Declaration.”

Participation in the GX Future Consortium
Konica Minolta participates in the GX Future Consortium, established in April 2026. This consortium is a platform established to accelerate the social implementation of green transformation (GX) by fostering collaboration among companies, local governments, and academic and other specialized institutions. It facilitates the sharing of pioneering case studies and practical expertise, research contributing to policy and institutional design, and discussions focused on future market formation and rulemaking. The Company also participates in the GX Future Academy, which aims to enhance the understanding and execution of GX, and the GX Future League, which drives public-private demonstration and deployment based on corporate initiatives. Konica Minolta will leverage the insights and networks gained from these activities to enhance its corporate management strategies and strengthen execution capabilities.
Public Policy Engagement with the Ministry of the Environment
Konica Minolta promotes initiatives to engage directly with policymakers on public policy issues by participating in meetings hosted by the Ministry of the Environment. For two years starting in 2024, the Company held repeated discussions with the Ministry of the Environment, academic experts, and other private companies on methodologies for assessing the physical risks of climate change. Following this process, in March 2026, the Ministry of the Environment officially released the Guidelines for Physical Risk Assessment of Climate Change.
Going forward, the Company will continue to pursue sustained and effective initiatives focused on areas aligned with its business domains.
Activities Intended to Spread Renewable Electricity [RE-Users]
As part of its policy advocacy and engagement activities regarding renewable energy in Japan, Konica Minolta participates in the RE-Users working group, for which the Renewable Energy Institute serves as the secretariat.
In 2023, the company released a policy recommendation through the Renewable Energy Institute, addressing the challenges and solutions related to the widespread adoption of renewable energy electricity in Japan.
In November 2025, following extensive discussions with 24 Japanese companies actively leading the transition to renewable energy, Konica Minolta submitted a proposal to the Japanese government outlining improvements to regulations and systems across four particularly critical areas.
Participating in the “Challenge Zero” Initiative of Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren)
Konica Minolta endorses Nippon Keidanren’s Declaration on “Challenge Zero.” The Group participates to achieve a decarbonized society by sharing specific information on how it is innovating to meet ambitious goals that will apply to a carbon-free Japan. By actively striving to develop net-zero emissions technology and fostering an upward spiral of solving environmental issues and business growth, the Group aims to contribute to achieving Keidanren’s “Society 5.0 for SDGs” initiative, which aims to solve social issues through innovation.
Participation in the Electrical and Electronics Industries’ “Carbon Neutrality Action Plan”
Konica Minolta is participating in the Carbon Neutrality Action Plan, an industry-wide effort to combat global warming promoted by the Liaison Group of Japanese Electrical and Electronics Industries for Global Warming. Under Phase 2 of the Action Plan, an ambitious target has been set to reduce CO2 emissions by about 46% from the fiscal 2013 level by 2030. As a member company, Konica Minolta is working to achieve this goal through various reduction activities.
Addressing Inconsistencies in Industry Associations' Positions on Climate Change
Konica Minolta actively participates in industry associations and initiatives whose activities align with the Group’s views and direction toward realizing the Paris Agreement and addressing the challenges of climate change. The activities of these associations and initiatives, including advocacy and campaign activities, are regularly reviewed to ensure alignment and coherence with Konica Minolta’s climate change approach. If measures are found inadequate or substantial discrepancies arise, Konica Minolta will consider, including the possibility of withdrawing from the relevant organization or initiative.
Toward the Realization of a Circular Economy
Participation in Japan Partnership for Circular Economy (J4CE)
In 2021, Konica Minolta joined the Japan Partnership for Circular Economy (J4CE), which was established by the Ministry of the Environment, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Japan Business Federation. Konica Minolta is pursuing open innovation that transcends corporate and industrial boundaries, and fostering social implementation of a circular economy by publicly declaring its commitment to ambitious challenges that will bring society closer to a cyclical economy.
Participation in "Circular Partners"
Konica Minolta joined Circular Partners in 2024. This public-private partnership was established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to promote the “Growth-Oriented Resource Autonomous Economy Strategy.” By sharing knowledge and successful case studies with other companies, local governments, and research institutions, and leveraging policy incentives, Konica Minolta aims to create new business opportunities.
Toward Biodiversity Conservation
Compliance with the Task Force on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Framework
To clarify its stance on the dependency and impact of its business on natural capital, the assessment thereof, and its commitment to addressing related opportunities and risks, Konica Minolta supports the principles and recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). In fiscal 2024, the Company registered as a TNFD early adopter company and became a member of the TNFD Forum. It discloses its assessment of the dependency and impact of its business on natural capital in accordance with the TNFD framework.
Endorsement of the Keidanren Initiative for Biodiversity Conservation
Konica Minolta supports the Keidanren Initiative for Biodiversity Conservation, established by the Keidanren and Keidanren Nature Conservation Council. With the aim of realizing a sustainable society, the Company is promoting efforts to address the seven items that comprise the Keidanren Declaration for Biodiversity and Guideline (Revised Edition).
Toward the Building of a Responsible Supply Chain
Responsible Business Alliance: RBA
Konica Minolta joined the RBA in October 2013 and has been acting as a member to strengthen its Sustainable procurement practices in the supply chain.
The RBA, whose members include many of the world’s leading electronics manufacturers and major suppliers, works collectively to improve workers’ rights (human rights and working conditions), ethics, and health and safety in the supply chain.
Responsible Minerals Initiative: RMI
Konica Minolta is a member of the RMI, which leads global initiatives for responsible mineral sourcing. The RMI has developed the globally adopted Responsible Minerals Reporting Template and promotes an audit program to assess and certify smelters and refiners as conflict-free, along with various other initiatives to promote a responsible supply chain for mineral procurement.
In Japan, Konica Minolta participates in JEITA’s Responsible Minerals Trade Working Group. This working group promotes programs on responsible mineral procurement among IT and electronics companies in Japan.

Initiatives within JBMIA
Konica Minolta is a member of the Japan Business Machine and Information System Industries Association (JBMIA), an industry organization. Aiming to promote environmental responsibility and the realization of a sustainable industry in the business machine and information system sectors, the Company participates in cross-industry discussions and initiatives aimed at developing industry rules, thereby strengthening its response to social and environmental issues.
In April 2025, the Company proposed to the association the establishment of a Decarbonation Committee to serve as a dedicated body for studying and recommending policies and regulatory trends related to decarbonization, which are expected to become increasingly important, and for promoting these efforts across the industry. Konica Minolta subsequently became the committee’s first chair. Through these activities, the Company identified priority themes that JBMIA should address going forward, and these were incorporated into the association’s fiscal 2026 business plan.
